Helping local people to live better lives their way

From 1 April 2022, Bolton Cares will be running two Extra Care Housing schemes in Wigan.

Extra Care Housing offers a community within a community and helps people to live independently and be sociable, with additional support or everyday assistance when it’s needed.

Our Extra Care Housing schemes

Working with housing associations and local authorities, we provide care and support in purpose-built accommodation for older people, offering a home-from-home environment, with support on-hand when needed.

You will have access to a wide range of facilities, services and activities, aimed at supporting you to maintain a great quality of life, as well as improving your health and wellbeing.

These include:

  • 24-hour support.
  • Housing-related support.
  • Personal care, such as support with medication and health and wellbeing
  • Meals either assisted or prepared for you.
  • Leisure and recreation activities.
  • Domestic help.
  • Support to build or maintain links with your community.
  • Support to maintain relationships with family and friends.

Our Extra Care Services are all based in the heart of your community, with easy access to local shops, supermarkets and transport routes.

Our accommodation offer consists of self-contained studios and one or two-bedroom apartments that are available for rent. Our Extra Care schemes are designed for people 55 and over that want to make the most of a vibrant social network and live life to the full.

Our on-site dedicated teams can help support with all aspects of day to day living and give people the flexibility and familiarity they need.
