A new type of support

Made up of two buildings consisting of 16 and 8 self-contained apartments, The Hollies represents a new model of support for adults with learning disabilities and autism. Since it opened in 2019, the development has helped to change perceptions of what makes a home for people living with a learning disability and how we can best cater to people who live in ‘Supported Living’.

No limits

Everybody at The Hollies has their own front door and an individual plan and package of support. This means that the people we support are at the centre of every decision that is made. While people may not need constant direct support, they have access to it 24 hours a day.

Living at The Hollies means people can live their own lives, the way they choose, leading to people developing meaningful friendships and relationships.

Independence

The Hollies has created a dedicated space for people with autism. This service ensures that the people we support are supported with their sensory challenges and can control their own environment.

With personalised technology, a Positive Behaviour approach to support and a skilled team of autism practitioners, the people who live at The Hollies can live their life, their way.

Long term

The Hollies provides futureproof and adaptable homes. As people’s needs change, their apartments can be adapted to continue to accommodate them. Personalised technology can be used to meet people’s changing needs or desires without the need for intrusive support. Grandcare can be used to video call and schedule daily activities, and sensors can automate the home and raise any necessary alerts.

Community links

With good public transport links, The Hollies is well connected to the wider community and represents an exciting place for friends and family to visit. Fantastic gardens and outside areas provide a great space for mental and physical wellbeing.
