Providing opportunities for families

The Jubilee Community Centre and Pool is now open.

Nestled in the heart of Bolton on Crompton Way, the Jubilee Centre is a key asset to the people we support in Bolton Cares and the local community.

We officially opened the centre on 20 June with a ribbon cutting and a time capsule burying ceremony with the people we support alongside dignitaries including The Mayor, Leader of the Council and officers from Bolton Council and Bolton Cares.

The new centre is specifically designed and adapted to offer leisure and support services to people with Autism and Disabilities and will enable people to develop their independence and life skills.

The new Jubilee Centre boasts a state of the art, fully equipped Hydrotherapy pool to support a range of abilities, as well as sensory and rebound rooms and community spaces that can be booked for everyone to enjoy.

We are keen to share the centre with the local community and other groups in the area. The pool offers a range of sessions including, family swim, open swim classes and parents and tots’ sessions as the warmer temperature makes it a popular venue with families and children.

We are working hard to ensure that the pool timetable below balances the needs of the people we support, their families and the Bolton community. However, we are happy to review this in a few months to ensure that it’s right for everyone who wishes to use the pool.

If you have any feedback, please email communication_bcs@boltoncares.org.uk

The address for the Centre is 324 Crompton Way Bolton BL2 3AF

Jubilee Pool update

We continue to receive a number of phone calls, emails and messages about the Jubilee Pool. Some points to note.

The hydrotherapy pool at the Jubilee Centre continues to be very popular with people with complex needs and the community. This is due to its warm temperatures and its prime location for families.

You continue to be very helpful with your suggestions and ideas about the pool timetable. Please keep an eye on this page for further updates.

We are sorry for the occasions when we have had to close the pool due to technical and operational challenges. Please be assured that closing the pool is a last resort and we only do this when we absolutely have to. When remaining open would be unsafe for public swimming.

Some important information for you to remember.

  • The pool is primarily a hydrotherapy pool not a mainstream swimming pool.
  • It only holds a total of 26 people at any one time and gets full very quickly.
  • The Parent and Tots’ sessions are available for children aged up to four years.
  • There is a national shortage of pool lifeguards in the UK due to the decline in school swimming and the fact that being a pool lifeguard is not considered to be a long term career. Consequently, we struggle to recruit qualified staff for the pool.
  • To avoid disappointment, please contact the pool on 01204 331337  to book your sessions.
