2nd February 2024

Our Life Opportunities Community team have started the year all systems go and have set themselves a big but exciting challenge. To do their very own IronMan UK 2024 challenge.

The ultimate aim of getting the people we support fit and healthy is for them to form a Bolton Cares Group team with staff and take part in the Bolton NightRun in June.

So, between now and then, they will be mirroring the activities of the IronMan challenge, the 2.4 mile swim, the 112 mile bike ride and the 26.2 mile run/walk.

Clocking up their distance on the bikes at the gym each week, counting swimming lengths in the pool at Jubilee and checking steps when they go for their beautiful woodland trust and countryside walks.

Lica Marchant Head of Service for Life Opportunities said.

“This is an amazing and ambitious project for us but it’s what our Life Opportunities is all about as we push the boundaries and challenge perceptions. We are so proud of the efforts of the people we support so far. They are working hard to achieve their ultimate goal, the NightRun in June.”
