Our exciting Jubilee Centre was officially opened today, Tuesday 20 June.
The Jubilee Community Centre is nestled in the heart of the Bolton Community on Crompton Way and is a vibrant, community support hub for people with disabilities and people across the town to enjoy.
Users of the New Jubilee Centre celebrated the opening with over 35 special guests. These included The Leader of the Council, Councillor Peel and The Mayor Councillor Ayub. Also key Bolton Council Officers including the Chief Executive, Sue Johnson and Managing Director of Bolton Cares, Sanjeet Bains.
Centre user Zena helped cut the ribbon along with Councillor Peel, Councillor Ayub and Sanjeet Bains.
The speeches were followed by a time capsule burying ceremony with the Mayor and stephen who helped dig the hole for the capsule.
Sanjeet spoke about the significance of the time capsule and its treasured contents including mementos and keepsakes which offer a glimpse of what life is like in Bolton in 2023 for people to find in the future.
Also attending were key members of staff from Bolton Council and Bolton Cares. They have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this exciting facility come to fruition.
Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor Nick Peel, said:
“It was an honour to take part in the opening ceremony for the New Jubilee Centre which will make such a difference in the lives of service users and local residents.
“This facility was designed with the help of the users, to make sure it meets the needs of the community both now and well into the future.
“We want to support service users to live fulfilling, independent lives. This brand-new, modern facility will play a huge role in helping achieve this goal.”
Sanjeet Bains Managing Director of Bolton Cares said.
“I am proud to be taking part in the official opening of the new Jubilee Centre. It is a fantastic facility for the people we support and a flagship resource for the town of Bolton.
“The centre is an excellent example of partnership working with Bolton Cares, Bolton Council, the people we support and their families as well as our external developers Robertsons.
“It has been a culmination of four years hard work and together we have achieved so much. Well done to everyone involved.”
Main contractor Robertson Construction provided the facility through Clear Futures.
Dirk Pittaway, Managing Director, Robertson Construction North West shared his delight at the opening of the Jubilee Centre, he said.
“Having met some of the users throughout the build, we fully understood the importance of the facility within the local community. During our day-to-day delivery of this quality facility the end users and the purpose of the building was never far from our thoughts.
“The Jubilee Centre is testament to the commitment shown by Bolton Council and Bolton Cares to promote life enhancement and wellbeing. Not just for the users of the facility, but also for the staff who provide such an essential service.
“We are delighted to support the official opening and to have been the partner of choice for delivery.”
