Bolton Council is delighted to announce that it has appointed Rhian Stone to the position of Managing Director for the Bolton Cares Group.

The appointment will enable Bolton Cares Group to continue to fulfil its mission to support people to live the life they want their way.

Rhian will join the group on 29 January 2024 and is a great fit for Bolton Cares.

As a highly experienced executive leader with a proven track record of providing strong and inspirational leadership in social care settings, she has been in Chief Executive and Managing Director roles and has successfully led social care and housing companies with 1200+ staff teams, across multiple geographies through challenging times. Her experience spans learning disability, mental health, complex needs, older people, young people’s services, homelessness and substance misuse.

A qualified social worker, she has worked in social care for 35 years and has a lifelong passion for making a positive impact on the lives of people who need support. In her early career she held high profile policy roles within the NSPCC and Barnardos and for four years led a cross government programme within the Department for Education.

She has strong links to the North West, lives in Manchester and attended Manchester University.

Speaking about her appointment Rhian Stone told us.

Also, I am very much looking forward to working with the stakeholders in Bolton Council, who are our key partner in taking the organisation from strength to strength and offering more to the communities we serve.”
