Our Life Opportunities is shifting away from the traditional day service, building based model. Instead, we are offering people the opportunity to do different, exciting and even adventurous activities that connect them with their community.

To help make this happen, Bolton Cares Life Opportunities Team has partnered up with Bolton Arena to run a six-week pilot of gym sessions for the people we support.

Natalie and her friend from Thicketford Autism Centre trialled the gym this week. They really pushed themselves, came out of their comfort zone and embraced the challenge of trying something new.

Both really enjoyed the session, jumping straight into action on the fitness equipment. They then had a stop at the steam room and sauna and enjoyed the calm and tranquillity.

When they returned to the Thicketford, they treated themselves to a chippy lunch followed by a lovely visit to the on-site salon, where they enjoyed a manicure from Sam. Both had a great day.

In addition, people we support at the Autism Centre enjoyed a music morning with Toby from the Life Opportunities Team. Everyone enjoyed listening and dancing along to Toby playing the guitar. Again, a fantastic session and a great example of using our talented staff to benefit the people we support.
