Through our Life Opportunities Community Engagement Coordinators, the people we support are getting out and about in their communities doing activities that empower them, build their confidence and help them develop new skills.

Michael and James recently joined a local woodworking course and have been improving their skills over the last few months. Slowly progressing from creating pencil boxes to coffee coasters. Now they have helped to make a coffee table which will permanently sit in St Chads Church‘Chill Out Shed’.

Toby Philbin our Community Engagement Coordinator working with the brothers said.

“It’s been brilliant watching them grow and develop their confidence with the machinery and their dexterity with the different crafting tools. They are growing in confidence every day, making new friends and doing something they love. For me this is great, it’s what our Life Opportunities service is all about.”
