Bolton Cares recently bid for a grant of £500 from the NHS Every Mind Matters fund and was successful. The Every Mind Matters campaign is aimed at helping people make small changes to their daily lives to make a big difference to their mental health.

The grant will be spent on providing positive mental health activities for staff at Bolton, Salford and Wigan Cares to help them with their wellbeing and encourage them to be kind to their minds.

The focus of the initiative is that staff take the personalised mind plan quiz. This is quick and easy to do and offers a bespoke action plan with tips and advice on how that individual should deal with anxiety, stress, lack of sleep and their general wellbeing

We will spend the grant on three key initiatives. These include ‘Mind Find’ quizzes, one a week for five weeks with a £50 voucher for the winner every time, free Stretching your Mind and Body yoga sessions to encourage calm meditative thought and lastly Blooming and Blending painting evenings where staff can connect and have fun expressing their inner artist.

The sessions will start in November and will run through to January and will be an opportunity for staff to connect, have fun and build team spirit and rapport across our services.

Jackie Partington Tait our Operations Director said.

“We are delighted to receive this grant. It is important to us that we support the well-being of our staff teams who do an incredible job. Being able to provide opportunities for free, relaxing sessions for staff is fantastic and we hope they will find them both enriching and have a lot of fun doing them.”
