The Life Opportunities for Older Adults team were given a lovely surprise yesterday.
Three local ladies, Sarah Hynes, Alison Hubber and Cheryl Pate had held a party bingo night earlier in the year, to raise money to donate to local causes.
Unexpectedly they rang Thicketford Centre and turned up with £1,000 worth of wonderful therapeutic items such as puzzles, games, books and arts and crafts materials. The items will assist, stimulate and trigger memories for the people we support who are living with dementia.
These amazing ladies hold different events every couple of months to have fun, raise money and generously donate gifts within the local areas around Bolton.
They each explained that they had family members some with dementia who had attended places like our Life Opportunities and wanted to give something back to the community.
Sanjeet Bains Managing Director said.
“Stella and Tina at the Thicketford Centre were overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of Sarah, Alison and Cheryl. We are so grateful for these wonderful donations as we know the pleasure, comfort and excitement, they will give the people we support.”
