Colleagues from Bolton Council recently dedicated one of their volunteering days to helping us spruce up the garden and areas of the local community.
Courtni and Rosie put their gloves on and got to work weeding and filling up the planters in the garden at Our SPACE – our life opportunities service dedicated to supporting people with autism in community environments.
People we support also did their bit, getting stuck into the gardening and helping with raking and watering the plants – and they kept our volunteers hydrated with drinks too.
Meanwhile, Nicola, Tracy and Ella headed out with to do some litter picking with people from our Life Opportunities Community Hub. Keeping the community spaces around Bolton clean and tidy is a priority for the people we support, and they loved making new friends from the council who share that passion with them.
The team had such a good afternoon, they’ve asked to come and volunteer again! We’re looking forward to seeing them back at Thicketford soon.
