On 1 March 2022 Bolton Cares won a contract to deliver two Extra Care Housing schemes in Wigan and officially welcomed Wigan Cares into the fold.

We joined Wigan in 2021 as a new provider when we won contracts to run Supported Living and Extra Care Housing services in the Goose Green, Pemberton and Worsley Mesmes areas of Wigan and welcomed a number of new colleagues into the Bolton Cares family.

These services will operate as ‘Wigan Cares’ and will provide 24-hour, person-centred care, seven days a week for tenants in Supported Living houses and flats and from 1 April 2022 for people living in Extra Care housing.

The contracts were awarded to Bolton Cares for its passion and commitment to provide innovative, high calibre care as well as for its partnership working.

Securing the two contracts with Wigan supports Bolton Cares on its thrive journey as a company. In 2019 we joined Salford and won contracts to run Supported Living and Outreach services and now that Wigan has joined the family, it helps to deliver on Bolton Cares future plans.

Chair of the Bolton Cares Steering Group, Cllr Paul Sanders, said:

“Bolton Cares has a history of working closely with partners to provide an excellent level of service.

It is great to see the hard work, expertise and commitment of Bolton Cares staff recognised by colleagues in Wigan. Particularly our local and neighbourhood ethos, enabling people to be active members of their communities.

We welcome colleagues from Wigan into the Bolton Cares family and look forwarding to collaborating with them to build our reputation as a key provider of person-centred, compassionate care across the region.”

Managing Director of Bolton Cares, Sanjeet Bains said:

“The team at Bolton Cares is thrilled and excited to welcome Wigan to the Bolton Cares fold. We are looking forward to working with families, tenants and other providers across the Wigan area to help change lives for the better and further build our reputation for providing excellent, quality, compassionate care across the North West.

“Being able to offer residents Supported Living care in their own home and Extra Care support is important. It allows us to tailor our packages of personal and physical care to protect and preserve an individual’s independence and lifestyle, enabling them to live the life they want to live.”
