We are delighted and thrilled to have been shortlisted for a Greater Manchester Health and Care Champion Award.
Beverley Burns, a Senior Support Worker in one of our Extra Care schemes in Bolton and has been nominated for a Rising Star Award.
Nominated for her positive approach and her exceptional leadership skills. She has transformed Kenyon into an efficient and well run scheme within the space of 12 months.
The winners will be revealed at a celebratory dinner in July in Manchester. We wish her well.
This year we put forward two other strong bids. These were in the Community Champion and the Leadership Champion categories, but they narrowly missed being shortlisted.
Toby Philbin and Karen Crompton were nominated for a Community Champion award for their inspirational work with the people we support. They are helping them to access and take part in exciting new creative and adventure activities in their communities.
Also, Lesley Sweeney in our Supported Living service was nominated for a Leadership Champion award. This was for the way she tirelessly puts the people we support at the forefront of everything she does. Also for her strong leadership skills at Green Lane in Bolton.
Managing Director Sanjeet Bains said.
“We were proud to put through three very strong candidates for the GM Health and Care Champion Awards and we are delighted with Beverley’s shortlisting. Getting recognition for what we do externally is fantastic. We know that within our services we have some amazing champions and ambassadors for Bolton, Salford and Wigan Cares for future award bids.”
