We wanted to focus on a more person centred approach to running our autism service here in Bolton. To help us do this we have come up with a new name.
From 1 May the service will be known as ‘Our Space’ across the town. Space stands for ‘Supporting people with autism in community environments’
To help us select a more fitting name for the service, we ran a competition with the people we support, their families’ carers and staff. We created a mood board, collated a number of suggestions around what autism services could look like and asked staff and the people we support to vote for the one they preferred.
Candice Unsworth, came up with the new name. Thank you Candice.

Working together to rename the service has been exciting and inspiring. Through talking to the people we support, their carers and families we have been able to take a more personalised and bespoke approach to the support we offer and the space we share with pople. We think the new name gives the service a more modern, inclusive feel and is a fbulous addition to our life opportunities journey.”
